Advantage Driver University is designed to teach you important techniques for safe driving, the laws and rules that regulate drivers, the keys to good customer service, how to operate within the Dart Network, and how to live and thrive as a successful professional truck driver.
After you submit your application for enrollment into Advantage Driver University we will perform the necessary background checks, employment verifications and due diligence required to ensure that you meet qualifications. This will include a review of your driving record and drug testing. You will be able to decide if this training program, along with the Enrollment Agreement and any Tuition Assistance programs are right for you. If you accept an offer to begin training, you will come to one of our training centers: Minneapolis/St. Paul (Eagan), MN, Dallas (Lancaster), TX, Atlanta (Buford), GA, or Sellersburg, IN. You will receive initial orientation, classroom training, and any other required training or testing.
We’ll provide you with guidance in a classroom setting, followed by on-road training. We know the best way to learn is by doing, so we’ll provide you with a trainer to help you develop your skills on the road, and work with you while you’re behind the wheel. During the on-road training we will do our best to make sure you’re home every night. However, this isn’t team driving -- the trainer will be in the seat next to you all the way.
Throughout the classroom and on-road training there will be tests to measure your progress. Depending on your experience and progress, the entire process should take 1-4 weeks. After the tests, we will evaluate you for an over-the-road or regional full-time driving position within the Dart Network.
After successfully completing the program, you will work with a fleet manager dedicated to helping graduates of the University.
